Quick Answer

Flat-pack assembly in London costs £85 for 1–2 items, £140 for 3–4 items, £180 for 5–6 items. PAX wardrobe single-bay £140, double-bay £220. Kitchen carcasses £35 each. Wall anchoring £15 per item. Same-day slots are usually available if booked before 1pm.

Professional flat-pack assembly across London

Flat-pack furniture looks simple on the box. In practice an IKEA PAX wardrobe is around 280 cam-locks, 60 dowels, eight panels longer than the average London hallway and a pair of doors that have to hang within 2mm of each other on a floor that has not been level since 1908. A bad build costs more than the assembly fee — chipboard splits when over-torqued, doors rub when frames are out of square, and a tall wardrobe that is not wall-anchored is a serious child-safety risk.

Every assembler on the team carries the same tool kit: a 12V impact driver with torque control, the full IKEA hex key set in metric, cam-lock turners, a digital stud finder, a 1200mm spirit level, hammer drills with masonry and wood bits, and stocks of cavity fixings sized for London plasterboard. That means a kit that should take you four hours of carpet-knee and Allen-key wrist is finished, levelled and tidied in around 90 minutes.

Bookings are handled by 0207 046 1363 on a landline that is answered by a real person, or by WhatsApp on 07456 975436 if it is easier to send a screenshot of the order. Fixed prices are confirmed before the van leaves — no minute-rate creep.

How it works

1

Send your order list

Drop the IKEA, Wayfair or Made.com order confirmation into WhatsApp 07456 975436 or call 0207 046 1363. A fixed quote — not an estimate — is confirmed on the same call once we know the item count, brand and any PAX or kitchen complexity.

2

Same-day or scheduled slot

Most one-bedroom flat-pack jobs are attended same-day or next-day across London. Larger PAX builds and full bedroom-set assemblies are booked in for a 2 to 4-hour slot at a time that works around your delivery.

3

Build, anchor, tidy

The assembler arrives in a marked van with full tool kit — torque drivers, allen sets, hammer drills, stud finders and a spirit level. Items are built in situ, wall-anchored where needed, and adjusted so doors hang true and drawers run straight.

4

Packaging removed, payment on completion

All cardboard, polystyrene and plastic is bagged and taken away on request. Payment is taken on completion by card, bank transfer or invoice. A photo record of finished items goes to landlords and property managers automatically.

Kitchen flat-pack and PAX specialists

Two jobs eat the most time on a self-build kitchen or bedroom: IKEA METOD carcasses and PAX wardrobes. Both are priced per unit so you can plan the day. A 10-unit METOD kitchen is £350 of carcass labour, ready for the kitchen fitter to mount, plumb and wire. A double-bay PAX with sliding doors is £220 plus the wall-anchoring fee, finished in a single 3-hour visit.

Sliding doors are the part most self-builders give up on. The PAX track has to be set parallel to a level reference, not to the floor — every London Victorian floor slopes, and matching the track to the floor instead of true level is why so many DIY PAX builds end with one door rubbing and the other swinging open. A laser level and floor shims fix it in 10 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does flat-pack assembly cost in London?
Flat-pack assembly in London is £85 for 1–2 small items, £140 for 3–4 items, and £180 for 5–6 items. A single-bay PAX wardrobe is £140 and a double-bay PAX is £220. Kitchen carcasses are £35 each. Wall anchoring is £15 per item and packaging removal is £25. All prices include VAT and the labour to build, level and adjust each piece — no hidden minimum charges.
Do you assemble IKEA furniture in London?
Yes. IKEA is the most common request — PAX wardrobes, MALM bedroom sets, KALLAX storage cubes, BILLY bookcases, HEMNES dressers, BESTÅ media units, BRIMNES bed frames and the GODMORGON bathroom range are all routine. We carry the full IKEA hex key set, cam-lock turners and the right-sized impact drivers so screws are torqued correctly without stripping the chipboard.
Can you assemble Wayfair and Made.com furniture?
Yes. Wayfair, Made.com, Habitat, Dunelm, John Lewis, Argos Home and Amazon-marketplace flat-packs are all assembled at the same per-item rate. Off-brand kits sometimes have looser tolerances than IKEA — the assembler will pre-check the parts list, flag any missing or damaged pieces in writing, and continue on the items that can safely be built so you are not left waiting on a single replacement screw pack.
How quickly can you come?
Same-day slots are usually available across central, north, east, south and west London if booked before 1pm. Otherwise next working day is standard. Saturday and evening slots are bookable at no premium. Larger PAX builds or full-room sets are scheduled for a 2 to 4-hour window so the assembler is not rushed.
Do you fit a PAX wardrobe with sliding doors?
Yes. PAX with hinged doors is £140 per single bay or £220 for a double bay. Sliding-door PAX is the same labour rate plus the track-alignment work — getting the floor and top tracks parallel within 2mm tolerance so the doors run cleanly without catching. The assembler brings a laser level and shims for older London floors that are rarely true.
Can you secure tall furniture to the wall?
Yes. Wall anchoring is £15 per item and is strongly recommended for any wardrobe, tall bookcase or chest of drawers — and is legally required on cots and bunk beds in rented property under the Children’s Furniture Safety guidance. We carry fixings for solid masonry, plasterboard with metal cavity anchors, and timber stud — confirmed with a stud finder before drilling.
Do you take the packaging away?
Yes — packaging removal is £25 per visit, covering all cardboard, polystyrene, plastic wrap and offcuts regardless of how many items were built. It is taken to a licensed recycling transfer station the same day with the waste-transfer note kept on file. London estate agents and property managers can request the disposal record alongside the build photos.
Can you build a kitchen flat-pack?
Yes. IKEA METOD, Howdens and Wren kitchen carcasses are built at £35 per unit — base, wall and tall units, with legs fitted, hinges set and shelf supports installed, ready for the kitchen fitter to mount and plumb in. Worktop cutting, sink installation and gas/electric connections are separate trades scheduled through our wider team.
Do you offer flat-pack assembly for landlords and Airbnb hosts?
Yes, and it is one of the busiest streams of our work. Turnover days at the end of a tenancy or between Airbnb stays often need a same-day rebuild of a damaged drawer unit or wardrobe. A photo record of every finished item is sent to the landlord or property manager for the inventory file, and consolidated invoicing is available on portfolios of three properties or more through our landlord service.
What if a part is missing or damaged?
The assembler photographs the missing or damaged part, notes the kit and step number against the IKEA or Wayfair instructions, and continues with whatever items can safely be built. You get the photo record to send straight to the retailer for a free replacement — most IKEA stores in London ship replacement parts within 48 hours. A return visit to finish the build is £45 with no second call-out fee.
